Alpine Electronics Redesigns the Truck Cockpit with Alpine Restyle Program
Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2015) - Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. has expanded its Alpine Restyle product initiative with new models in the program debuting at the 2015 International CES, taking place Jan. 6-9, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Alpine Restyle transforms the driver’s experience in the cockpit of trucks and SUVs. The program consists of products that are Alpine engineered for full size trucks and SUVs. The products take into consideration the needs of truck and SUV drivers and the lifestyles in which they use their vehicles for work and leisure.

2015 marks an expansion of the Alpine Restyle program beyond in-dash products with the introduction of sound system products and a rear view camera system specifically for full size trucks. At the centerpiece of the program is the X009, a multi-function system with 9-inch WVGA screen and audio, video, navigation and Bluetooth® wireless technology. The X009 debuted in 2014 but remains the largest full-system screen in the North American aftermarket. To accommodate the large screen into the dashboards of trucks and SUVs, the X009 is paired with vehicle-specific Alpine Restyle dash kits. There are seven vehicle-specific Restyle dash systems, plus a universal version for use in custom installations. Each kit is Alpine engineered for use with a specific vehicle platform with color, finish and shape that matches the factory dash. The kits feature hard keys that fully replace the factory radio knobs. The Alpine Restyle dash systems come with the X009, matching dash kit and all necessary accessories for plug-and-play installation. The systems can retain many of the vehicle’s factory features through compatibility with the included iDatalink® Maestro module. In total, the Alpine Restyle dash systems are compatible with over eight million trucks and SUVs available from the applicable makes, models and years.
The new PSS-GM21 is a complete packaged sound system for 2007-2013 GM full size trucks. Included in the package are the SPT-21GM GM truck speaker system, an MRV-V500 5-channel amplifier and the new direct fit subwoofer. The direct fit subwoofer comes complete with a unique tuned enclosure made for 2007-2013 GM full size trucks. What makes the direct fit subwoofer unique is that it fits in the very limited and unusable space behind the seats in the GM 4-door trucks, thereby creating excellent bass response without taking up any usable space inside the vehicle. The design allows a thin, lightweight subwoofer to create good, low-frequency extension. It achieves this by tuning the enclosure with a port that matches to the 2007-2013 GM full size trucks. The port is coupled to the outside air though one of the cabin vents behind the seat.
The SPT-21GM GM truck speaker system consists of two pairs of speakers that are engineered to fit and sound great in 2007-2013 GM full size trucks. A pair of 2-way, 6 ½-inch component speakers are supplied for the front doors, and a pair of 6 ½-inch coaxial speakers are used for the rear. The speakers and tweeters fit into the truck’s factory locations and include mounting adapters to optimize their position and angle for the best possible sound reproduction. The SPT-21GM can also be purchased separately as an independent speaker system.
The HCE-TG130GM is the first rear view camera system under the Alpine Restyle umbrella. The product is specifically designed for 2007-2013 GM trucks and consists of a rear view camera system with a tailgate handle surround bezel. It replaces the stock tailgate handle surround bezel for direct bolt-in installation into the compatible trucks. The camera system has four viewing modes which are especially helpful for drivers of full-size trucks: rear view for backing into tight parking spaces; ground view for seeing the area directly under the camera to help with connecting to a tow hitch; corner view for identifying approaching objects when backing out of a parking space; and panorama view for seeing the entire driveway when backing out. The camera fits in a housing located to the right of the tailgate handle for a clean, factory-look. LED lighting is integrated into the bezel, for better viewing in low-light situations. The tailgate lock can be coded for use with the truck’s ignition key.
Alpine will continue to grow the Alpine Restyle initiative through additional product releases, in-store sales support and consumer events.
