LAS VEGAS (Jan. 8, 2019) - Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. is now offering direct fit in-dash and sound system upgrades for select vehicles. The upgrades include large, in-dash screens and direct-fit sound systems.

In 2018, Alpine launched the ground-breaking Alpine Halo9 iLX-F309, a 9-inch screen system that allows an oversized screen to a be added to a variety of vehicles without the need for custom installation. It uses a traditional 1-DIN installation chassis and the screen is mounted to a bracket so that it “hovers” over the dashboard. The iLX-F309 is a mech-less design (no CD/DVD slot), and it includes the latest smartphone technology from Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, along with Bluetooth® wireless technology and audio streaming.

Expanding on the Alpine Halo9’s popularity, there are now three new vehicle-specific systems featuring the iLX-F309 for select Toyota trucks and SUVs. The systems are the iLX-F309TCM for the Toyota Tacoma® (2014-Up), the iLX-F309TND for the 2016-Toyota Tundra® (2016-Up), and the iLX-F309FRN for the Toyota 4Runner® (2014-Up). A 9-inch screen, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ are not available as factory options on many of these trucks, so the Alpine Halo9 kits for Toyota vehicles offer an easy way to upgrade to a large screen and the latest smartphone technology.

Each system is tailored to fit each truck. The 9-inch screen comes pre-assembled to the installation chassis, and the screen is pre-positioned at the optimal height, depth, and angle to match the dashboard of each truck. A vehicle-specific dash kit is included for a finished trim and the supplied wiring harness is tailored for each truck. Each system comes with an iDatalink® Maestro® module which is pre-programmed with the correct settings for each truck, so that select factory features are retained. Since all needed accessories are included and the parts are pre-assembled, installation time takes less than one hour.

Depending on the vehicle, adding an aftermarket sound system can sometimes be a complex experience. For mainstream consumers who don’t want a large system or extensive custom installation, Alpine has developed a line of simple-to-use, powered sound system upgrades to improve the listening experience with their factory radio.  

There are five powered sound system models which are made for some of the best-selling cars in the U.S. The models are: PSU-300CMY for the Toyota Camry® (2018-Up), PSU-300CRA for the Toyota Corolla® (2014-2018), PSU-300CVC for the Honda Civic® (2016-2018), PSU-300ACD for the Honda Accord® (2018-Up) and the PSU-300MTG for the Ford Mustang® (2016-Up). All models are 300-watt systems and deliver the Alpine sound experience via a plug-and-play installation. Each system consists of the PWE-S8 Powered Subwoofer and KTP-445U 4-channel Power Pack Amplifier, both are pre-assembled onto the under-seat installation bracket, a remote bass knob and a vehicle-specific wiring harness. Using a compact design that fits under the passenger’s seat (or under the glove box for the Ford Mustang®), the system loads the bass output to the front of the vehicle for upgraded bass impact and improved overall volume. Each system is pre-tuned for each car, eliminating the need to make tedious sound adjustments to the system. The models are compatible with the factory base radio (must not have an amplified or premium factory system), an Alpine head unit, or another aftermarket head unit.
