Alpine Electronics has become a staple in Jeep® Wrangler culture and offers a variety of aftermarket in-dash, sound and camera systems for various models of this iconic SUV. Jeepers can build and customize their vehicle to meet a specific need or design an entire system tailored for their lifestyle. 

Alpine offers four in-dash systems for the Wrangler. The newest is the i209-WRA-JL, a weather resistant, mech-less system with 9-inch screen for the new Wrangler platform that was introduced in 2018. Other models include the X209-WRA-OR with 9-inch screen and Off-Road Mode (2011-2018 models), the i209-WRA mech-less system with 9-inch screen (2011-2018 models), and the i207-WRA mech-less system with 7-inch screen (2007-2018 models). All systems come with an Alpine-designed dash bezel along with Wrangler-specific wiring harnesses for a direct fit and easy installation.

Key features on the Alpine Restyle in-dash systems include:

• Weather resistance: The i209-WRA-JL, X209-WRA-OR and i209-WRA are weather resistant models that can withstand dust and light rain, so users can drive with the Wrangler’s top off without being affected by inclement weather.

• Apple CarPlay®: Apple CarPlay® lets users access maps, music, messages and phone calls on their iPhone® through the Alpine touch screen or through the “Voice” hard key for Siri voice control. 

• Android Auto™: All models have an Android Auto™ connection and work with the Google Assistant (requires both a USB cable and Bluetooth® connection; requires an Android™ phone running 5.0 [Lollipop] or higher and the Android Auto™ app). Google Assistant in Android Auto™ allows users to play music, get driving directions, interact with smart home devices and reply to text messages – hands free. 

• Audio entertainment: The systems feature HD Radio™, “Made for iPod® and iPhone®” compatibility, audio streaming, Pandora® control, FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Control) music playback via USB and are SiriusXM-Ready™ (SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit sold separately; SiriusXM subscription required).

• Video entertainment: A DVD player is included on the X209-WRA-OR, or it can be added to other models via the DVE-5300 DVD Player. An additional HDMI input can be added via the KCX-630HDMI HDMI Selector Interface (sold separately).

• Bluetooth® wireless technology with call waiting and audio streaming.

• iDatalink® Maestro® module: Select Wrangler controls and features are retained through the included module.

• Off-Road Mode and Navigation on the X209-WRA-OR: The Off-Road Mode includes features like trail tracking, an off-road centric user interface, and compass readings. The X209-WRA-OR’s navigation database includes Points of Interest (POIs) for popular vehicular recreational areas, FunTreks trailheads and campsites across the U.S.

• Control of External Accessories: Touch screen control of accessories like a winch or light bar is available with the addition of the KAC-001 External Accessory Module. An sPOD accessory switcher can also be controlled by the Alpine Restyle systems via the KAC-001. 

Alpine offers several rear and front camera system solutions for the Wrangler. The newest is the HCE-RCAM-WRA, a rear-view camera system and bracket that mounts behind the spare tire. Because of its install location, the camera can be positioned to the left or right of the wheel’s spoke, giving a clear image behind the vehicle. It features High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology, which balances out dark and light images for clearer viewing when transitioning from low-light to sunlight conditions. An Alpine camera system can be added to the Wrangler’s factory screen via the SGS-CH01 Factory Radio Camera Interface. For owners who want an integrated look, Alpine offers the HCE-C2600FD4 Front Camera which fits directly into the Smittybilt® XRC2 Front Bumper for the Wrangler (bumper sold separately).

Alpine offers several sound system upgrades for the Wrangler. The PSS-23WRA Sound System Upgrade fits 2018-Up Wrangler Unlimited models. This 300-watt system consists of a powered subwoofer and 1-inch tweeters, providing a bass and volume boost to the Wrangler. Two different direct fit sound systems are available for the previous Wrangler models, including the PSS-22WRA, which is a weather-resistant sound system for the 2011-2018 Wrangler Unlimited. All sound systems come with the required installation accessories and are compatible with an Alpine Restyle in-dash system, an aftermarket head unit, or the non-amplified, Jeep® factory base radio.
