Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2016) - Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. unveiled two new rear seat entertainment products at the 2016 International CES, taking place Jan. 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The PKG-RSE4AP rear seat entertainment system with 11.4-inch screen and the DVE-5300 add-on DVD player are the newest additions to Alpine’s family of rear seat entertainment products.

The PKG-RSE4AP mech-less rear seat entertainment system with 11.4-inch WSVGA high-definition flip-down screen is an add-on model ideal for large family vehicles like SUVs or minivans. It is compatible with Alpine’s new 2016 mech-less dash systems such as the 8-inch Restyle dash system (X108U for select SUVs, trucks and universal applications) and the 7-inch dash system (INE-W967HD for universal applications). The PKG-RSE4AP is also compatible with Alpine’s new vehicle-specific Restyle dash systems, consisting of the 10-inch Restyle dash systems (X110-SLV for 2014-up Chevrolet Silverado, X110-SRA for 2014-up GMC Sierra) and 9-inch Restyle dash system (X109-WRA for 2011-up Jeep Wrangler) – all three systems are already equipped with a built-in DVD player. The HDMI input on the dash systems allows the user to stream video into the system for playback on the PKG-RSE4AP.

Unique to the PKG-RSE4AP is the Plasmacluster® technology which reduces contaminants and odors from inside the vehicle. The system uses plasma discharge to release positive and negative ions into the air. When they come in contact with a mold or spore, the ions transform into radicals which break down the bacteria and eventually return to the air as water.

The new DVE-5300 is an add-on DVD player designed for the X108U and INE-W967HD mech-less dash systems. It uses an HDMI connection for maximum signal quality and has an optical output for control of an external processor (processor sold separately). The optional KCX-630HD Switcher (sold separately) also can be added to retain HDMI capability when the X108U or INE-W967HD is connected to the DVE-5300.

Completing Alpine’s rear seat entertainment lineup are the PKG-RSE3HDMI rear seat entertainment DVD/USB/HDMI system with 10.1-inch flip down monitor, the PKG-RSE3DVD rear seat entertainment DVD system with 10.1-inch flip down monitor, and two sets of headphones which can be used as additional headphones to supplement the rear seat entertainment systems.
