New V-Power 5-Channel Amplifier from Alpine Electronics Joins Vast Amplifier Lineup
Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2015) - Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. debuted a new MRV amplifier at the 2015 International CES taking place Jan. 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The MRV-V500 is a 5-channel amplifier joining the V-Power lineup.
“Alpine has an amplifier to meet every system size and budget,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, aftermarket business unit, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “In particular, the new MRV-V500 5-channel amplifier and the PDR lineup are great complements to the Alpine Restyle truck and SUV product initiative.”
The new MRV-V500 is a flexible amplifier that fills a gap in the V-Power lineup, offering a 5-channel model for this entry level line. The MRV-V500 will also be offered as part of the PSS-21GM, a packaged sound system for 2007-2013 full size GM trucks, which is part of the Alpine Restyle lineup. The PSS-21GM, due in spring 2015, consists of the MRV-V500, a truck-specific speaker system (SPT-21GM, for 2007-2013 full size GM trucks) and a direct fit subwoofer for the compatible trucks. Alpine Restyle is a category of products which are engineered by Alpine for use in specific full-size trucks and SUVs. Previously, the Alpine Restyle products consisted of in-dash 9-inch entertainment/navigation systems, but the category is now expanding to include truck sound systems and drive assist products.
The PDR amplifiers that were introduced in 2014 will remain in the lineup for 2015. These amplifiers are ideal for powering a truck system, thanks to their big power output in a small footprint. They offer quiet performance through an ultra-low signal to noise ratio; ultra-high damping factor for clean and tight bass; and a high efficiency design that allows for improved thermal management to prevent shutdown.
The rest of the 2015 lineup consists of the entry level V-Power lineup, the premium PDX amplifiers and the MRX-M110 from the X-Power series – all carrying over from 2014. Also available are Head Unit Power Packs which are small amplifiers that boosts the power of head units. The KTP-445A (for select 2005 and new Alpine head units) and the KTP-445U (for virtually any source unit) increase the power of a head unit to 45W RMS x 4, while the KTP-190U is a mono model designed to power a factory subwoofer and provide a 90W RMS x 1 power boost.
The MRV-V500 will be available in April. All other amplifiers are available now at authorized Alpine retailers, visit www.alpine-usa.com for a store locator.
