Alpine Electronics Redesigns Its X-Power Amplifiers
Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 10, 2012) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. will debut its redesigned X-Power vehicle amplifiers at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), taking place Jan. 10-13 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. With the addition of a new PDX model, Alpine’s complete amplifier lineup totals 13 models plus an add-on power pack.
The new X-Power amplifiers have over 10 percent higher rated power than their 2011 predecessors. They also have more gain, since they are 6dB more sensitive than the previous X-Power amplifiers. In addition, their low pass filter slope was increased to -24dB, to better match the expectations of customers who buy mid-zone amplifiers. The cosmetic appearance of the X-Power amplifiers has also been updated with a new black hairline finish and diamond-cut center plate.
“Our X-Power amplifiers run efficiently and provide reliable power,” said Steve Crawford, vice president and general manager, Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. “They deliver clearer highs, tighter bass and an improved sound experience.”
X-Power amplifiers use digital technology trickled-down from Alpine’s proven PDX amplifier architecture and are offered at a lower price point. The X-Power models have ultra clean sound output, with the highest damping factor, lowest distortion, highest bandwidth and best signal-to-noise in their class. Utilizing a small footprint that is the result of 80% total efficiency, they can be installed in many compact locations. Their internal monitoring system optimizes power output, to keep the music playing even under extreme heat and load conditions.
Alpine’s popular PDX amplifiers are still available for 2012 and include a new 5-channel model, the PDX-V9. This model supplies 50% more power than its predecessor and incorporates Global Modulation architecture, for the ultimate sound quality that is a hallmark of PDX amplifiers. The PDX-V9 has system flexibility, allowing it to be used in a typical 5-channel system or in a 3-way active system. PDX amplifiers were the first all digital amplifiers to be housed in a small, uniform footprint, with a stackable chassis design for compact installations. All PDX amplifiers continue to be efficient, reliable and have the flexibility to work with multiple speaker configurations.
Expanding on Alpine’s amplifier lineup is the new KTP-445U universal power pack. This is Alpine’s second generation power pack, and it is compatible with aftermarket or factory head units. This small product doubles the power of an aftermarket head unit and increases the power of a standard factory head unit to 45W RMS x 4. With its simple installation and easy system set-up, the KTP-445U is an easy way to boost the power of any system.
Alpine’s best-selling V-Power amplifiers continue as a mainstay for 2012. The MRP-M500 mono amplifier and MRP-F300 4-channel amplifiers deliver the highest watt-per-dollar value in the industry.
