Bluetooth Firmware Update C500 Contents:
- Eliminates skipping sound during Bluetooth Audio playback, which occurs when the head unit is downloading phone book contacts from the mobile device.
- Improves phone book download speed from mobile device to head unit.
Requirements to update your CDE-147BT:
- A USB Flash Drive (minimum 2MB free space)
- The Bluetooth firmware update file (Alpine provided).

Download the Update:
1. Download the Bluetooth firmware update (zipped folder) to the computer that will be used to perform this update.
2. Save the update (zipped folder) onto your computer desktop so that it can be easily found later.
3. Unzip the content (file) to a USB flash drive. The extracted content will include the firmware update file named “BTFW_C500.bin”. The “BTFW_C500.bin” file should now be in the root directory of the USB flash drive.
Updating the CDE-147BT:
1. Plug-in the USB flash drive (with FW update loaded) into the CDE-147BT.
2. Push and hold the SETUP button.
3. Use the volume knob to select Bluetooth, then press ENTER (volume knob).
4. Use the volume knob to select FW Update, then press ENTER (volume knob).
5. Use the volume knob to select YES, then press ENTER (volume knob).
6. “Updating”, “Don’t Touch Any Button” should be displayed. The update process should take about 4 minutes and 30 seconds. Do not power the unit off during this process.
7. When “Updated” is displayed, cycle ignition OFF and remove USB flash drive.
8. Update is complete. You may now cycle the ignition ON and use the radio.
9. If you would like to verify the update you can access the FW information by following steps 1-2 and select FW Version. The display should read “C500”.
