Torrance, Calif. (Jan. 6, 2016) – Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. debuted a new 8-inch Restyle dash system and 7-inch audio/video/navigation (AVN) system at the 2016 International CES, taking place Jan. 6-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Both models can serve as control hubs for system expansion with external accessories, drive assist cameras and rear seat entertainment products.

The X108U mech-less Restyle dash system has an 8-inch capacitive WVGA touch screen with an audio, video and navigation feature set. It is compatible with vehicle-specific dash kits that come packaged with all the needed accessories for the plug-and-play installation of the X108U. The INE-W967HD mech-less AVN system has a 7-inch capacitive WVGA touch screen and is for universal application in vehicles.

Alpine is the only aftermarket manufacturer offering a robust lineup of systems available in five screen sizes. The new X110-SLV and X110-SRA are 10-inch Restyle dash systems for select Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks. The X009 9-inch Restyle dash system comes in eight variations for full size trucks and SUVs. The X108U and INE-W967HD represent the 8-inch and 7-inch screen options, while the currently available INE-W960 with 6.1-inch screen rounds out the lineup.

Alpine Restyle Dash Kit Solutions
Alpine Restyle dash kit solutions give the X108U’s 8-inch screen a seamless fit into the dash of numerous trucks and SUVs. Each kit is designed to match the shape, color and texture of the vehicle’s interior. The Alpine Restyle dash kits come with an Alpine/vehicle-specific harness, antenna adapter (if necessary), Alpine-specific steering wheel interface and BUS adapter (if necessary).

New Operating System
The X108U and INE-W967HD feature a new graphical user interface (GUI) based on a new graphics rendering engine with 4-way swipe action control -- left, right, down and up. A left swipe accesses navigation commands, a right swipe accesses audio and video commands, a swipe down accesses adjustments to the audio system or rear seat entertainment system (sold separately) and a swipe up accesses Bluetooth and source selection. Within the audio and video page, the user can swipe across to access the entertainment sources connected to the system.

System Expansion Capabilities
Both the X108U and INE-W967HD can serve as control hubs for other accessories. When either system is used with the optional KAC-001 External Accessory Control Module (sold separately), the screen becomes a hub for touch screen control of add-on truck accessories like a motorized tonneau cover, winch, air suspension, LED lights, headlights, etc. Eight individual outputs are available to control eight relay-connected accessories. A graphical icon and custom text label can be assigned to each accessory for quick identification on the screen. The individual outputs can be configured as Pulsed, Latched or Momentary.

The X108U and INE-W967HD are compatible with Alpine’s rear and front camera systems. The KCX-C250MC Multi-Camera Controller (sold separately) can be added to optimize the use of multiple camera systems. This optional module allows up to three camera systems (rear, front and side) to be controlled from the touch screen for one-touch viewing of any of the camera images.

The new DVE-5300 is an add-on DVD player designed for the X108U and INE-W967HD. The optional KCX-630HD HDMI Switcher (sold separately) can also be added to retain HDMI capability when the X108U or INE-W967HD is connected to the DVE-5300. It uses an HDMI connection for maximum signal quality and a digital optical connection for output to an external processor (processor sold separately). The PKG-RSE4AP mech-less rear seat entertainment system gives back seat passengers an 11.4-inch high definition screen for video enjoyment. The HDMI input on the X108U and INE-W967HD allows the user to stream video into the system for playback on the PKG-RSE4AP. Unique to the PKG-RSE4AP is the Plasmacluster® technology, which reduces contaminants and odors from the vehicle’s interior via charged particle attraction for a cleaner in-vehicle environment.

iDatalink® Maestro® Compatibility
The X108U and INE-W967HD retain many of the factory features through compatibility with the iDatalink Maestro module (sold separately). Examples of factory features that can be retained through the X108U and INE-W967HD include: OnStar® from GM, SYNC® from Ford, Uconnect® from Chrysler, SiriusXM, factory amplified system, rear seat entertainment system, rear view camera and steering wheel controls. Users can choose customized vehicle information (diagnostic data, gauge screen, parking assist screen, etc.) to be viewed on the screen (retained features and customized vehicle information vary by vehicle model).

Audio Features
Audio features on the X108U and INE-W967HD include:

• FLAC compatibility (Free Lossless Audio Codec): FLAC files can be played on the new models via USB, providing a truer listening experience.
• HD Radio™ Technology: The X108U and INE-W967HD have a built-in HD Radio receiver for free, crystal clear digital sound from the more than 2,000 AM and FM stations broadcasting with HD Radio Technology. Alpine’s MediaXpander® technology also provides further enhanced sound quality to HD Radio channels by adding back missing harmonics in compressed media.
• Pandora® internet radio: Pandora control is available from iPhone® and Android™ smartphones. Users can create new Pandora stations, rate songs with the thumbs up or down rating system, and bookmark songs for later purchase from the touchscreen.
• SiriusXM: Both models are SiriusXM-Ready™ and connect to the SiriusXM SXV300 Connect Vehicle Tuner Kit (sold separately, subscription required). SiriusXM features include: album art; display of channel logos; pause, rewind and replay up to 60 minutes of content while listening to satellite radio; start songs from the beginning when tuned to any favorite music channel using TuneStart™; scan and select songs on favorite music channels with TuneScan™.
• iPod® and iPhone®: The units are “Made for iPod and iPhone” compatible and have USB access.
• Alpine TuneIt® App: The units are compatible with the Alpine TuneIt® App, a free smartphone app for easy sound tuning. The app allows for tweaking of sound settings (like Time Correction, Parametric EQ and Crossover) via hand-picked adjustments or from pre-made settings in the database. If the vehicle has Alpine speakers and subwoofers, these items can also be selected within the app for more precise tuning of the audio system. Settings can be shared with and rated by other users.

Video and Navigation Features
The X108U and INE-W967HD have HDMI inputs, allowing for video entertainment through connectivity to HDMI-enabled devices (MHL cable sold separately). Each system also has an HDMI output, allowing for full digital audio/video output to a rear seat entertainment system (sold separately). The dual zone video control allows the driver to use a source in the dash while the rear seat passengers enjoy a separate video in the back.

Alpine’s proprietary navigation interface includes pre-loaded maps of the United States, Canada and more than seven million Points of Interest (POIs). Major landmarks, buildings and terrain details are depicted in 3D. Driving directions are delivered through text-to-speech announcements and the highway services list displays the services available at each exit (gas, food, ATMs, etc.) to help drivers make quick decisions while en route. The X108U and INE-W967HD come with free lifetime HERE® traffic RDS service.

Bluetooth® Wireless Technology Features
Alpine’s advanced Bluetooth® wireless technology features include secure simple pairing (SSP); multipoint technology which allows for pairing and connecting of two different Bluetooth devices at the same time; phone battery, cellular signal level and received message icons; as well as call waiting. Sound quality features include Alpine’s MediaXpander® technology for better playback of compressed media, improved audio streaming and enhanced phone call sound quality.

Customizable Settings
Smartphone connectivity powered by Airbiquity® for iPhone and Android based smartphones will feature a portfolio of useful and popular infotainment content. The companion Alpine Connect smartphone app will provide simple content selection and user personalization. The content features will integrate into Alpine user and navigation interfaces for enhanced user convenience. Alpine Connect content for April 2016 retail availability will include Spotify for streaming music and playlists; iHeartRadio for streaming live radio stations from across the country, custom music stations, 24/7 news, on-demand podcasts, and the best in sports, talk and comedy programming; Yelp for finding local places to eat, drink, and shop; and Glympse for sharing locations with friends and family. Additional content will be added to the Alpine Connect portfolio at later dates.

Alpine’s “My Favorites” feature lets users customize a quick-access screen with shortcuts to their most-used features. Shortcuts can be created from audio sources, navigation commands and phone settings. If the chosen radio station broadcasts metadata, the metadata is automatically fed into the radio station shortcut icon so the user can see the song that is playing before choosing the radio station. The shortcuts are added by pressing the shortcut soft key that appears within all audio and hands-free sources.
