Smart Reception Management: A Better Way to Listen to HD Radio
Traditional HD Radio equipped tuners will use an auto-switching method when listening to the main & multi-casting channels. It works really well on the main channels, however when listening to a sub-channel, you will be switched back to the main channel if the digital signal is temporarily lost. This interruption can be a frustrating experience to stay engaged on a particular multi-casting channel if the digital signal is weak. Alpine’s solution provides Smart Reception Control through the default setting “Digital MC”. The Digital MC setting uses a Hybrid method of auto-switching analog and digital on the main channel, and uses all-digital for sub-channels. Alpine’s solution keeps you on the channel you desire, resulting in a better overall HD Radio experience.
iTunes Tagging—Get New Songs on the Go
The CDE-134HD is enabled for iTunes Tagging and when you hear a song you like, simply press the on-screen [Tag] button that is displayed below the song information. This iTunes Tagging feature lets you Tag songs you hear on HD Radio stations and stores the song info on your iPod. The next time you connect your iPod to iTunes, you will be able to preview your tagged songs and purchase and download them from directly from iTunes.

Simple Plug-in with Front USB Port and Front Aux Input
With a dedicated USB input and USB cable, you can even connect USB memory devices like thumbdrives. Song lists on USB devices are displayed in alphabetical order, and allows eight levels of file / folder search capabilities. This unit will find music files while ignoring other file types on the USB device.
Note: MP3 device or cell phone can only be independently controlled through the head unit when using the USB connection, not with the AUX connection.
Built-in Equalizer
Select from 10 different EQ modes to get the best sound from all your sources. (Flat/Pops/Rock/News/Jazz/Elec Dance/Hip Hop/Easy Lis/Country/Classical). If the Equalizer presets aren’t enough for your listening taste, there’s a 3-Band Parametric Equalizer you can adjust and save as a user preset for a better sound response curve. The setting – Bass, Mid and Treble- can be adjusted in the 3-Band Parametric mode.

This head unit allows you to customize your crossover adjustments so you can control where you send high and low frequencies, so you get the best sound out of your factory or upgraded system. Connect your iPod or iPhone using the USB cable that came with your iPod or iPhone and you've got access to all your music, right from your head unit. Adding the optional heavy-duty, automotive-grade Alpine KCU-445i USB iPod/iPhone cable is an even better option. This cable can stand up to the rigors of in-car use unlike the cable supplied with your iPod or iPhone used primarily for charging. With USB you get convenient control so you can scroll through all your Playlists, Artists, Albums, and Songs - and view all your song information right from the head unit display. iPod/iPhone Passenger Control
Friends managing music in your car earning the coveted passenger seat just got easier. The CDE-134HD has a “Passenger Control Mode” that gives the passenger control of the tunes directly from the iPod’s or iPhone’s menu. The driver still has play/pause, track up/down, and volume control right from the CDE-134HD’s faceplate. When the driver wants to take control again, a 1 second press of the volume knob switches the control from the iPod back to the CDE-134HD’s menu.

Have tons of music? Find it fast! With Alpine’s exclusive QuickSearch technology, you'll be able to find what you want, the quickest and easiest way possible. With so many ways to listen to thousands of songs, now you can get super-fast access to artists, songs, albums, playlists, and radio stations. Large control buttons and a rotary encoder make it easy to scroll through all your sources, including your iPod, Radio stations and CD's. No interruptions, while you search, just let the Alpine play.
Percentage Search
For especially big music libraries, Percentage Search function uses the preset buttons for quick jumps to specific parts of the list. Save yourself from scrolling through each song one by one, when you can just jump to a segment of your library with a touch of a button.
